Self Care Yoga Group: join Maria for a slow yoga course aimed at addressing your nervous system – shifting it from overwhelm towards joyful heart opening.
The material is designed to provide you with 8 movement sessions, that can set you the challenge of practicing twice a week, or you may choose to access the material whenever suits you over a 6 week period.
As well as the 8 sessions, you will have access to two different guided relaxations and bonus material (e.g. a stick-figure sheet, downloadable background music).
Each practice is accompanied by detailed notes, outlining benefits and any potential risks.
The group, accessible through Facebook (or email if preferred) will begin on June 12th and remain open for six weeks until July 24th. Its formatted as two weekly yoga practices over four weeks, with an extra two week’s access to allow you to repeat or catch-up as required. You will also have access to two guided relaxations, detailed class notes and other extras. Since the videos are pre-recorded, you can choose to access the material at a time that suits you. Practices from one week also dovetail nicely, and can potentially be used together as a workshop length weekend treat. The group will also feature a weekly Zoom check-in to keep you motivated and other other relevant material to build a sense of momentum and community. Participant’s are encouraged to get interactive in the group, since plain old human connection is something we are all craving these days!
There are four weekly themes planned.
Week 1: Soothing and Grounding (focus on calming nervous system).
Week 2: Waking and Releasing (creating space for change and relieving pent-up tension).
Week 3: Lifting and Energising (building strength and lifting mood).
Week 4: Clearing and Nourishing (opening the heart, clearing the mind).
